This month we bring you a round up of our ten favourite eye products which all combat signs of fatigue and ageing to help you look rested, refreshed and rejeuvenated. Of all the products we’ve tried in the SLOAN! office over the last few weeks, these are the ones we recommend in order of preference.
Created by leading UK Dermatologist, Dr Nick Lowe, the award winning Age Correct Eye Serum firms, tones and moisturises the delicate skin under the eyes, whilst helping to effectively fight the appearance of dark circles and fine lines. This lightweight, ultra-nourishing eye serum targets blood-originated pigments responsible for dark circles, as well as local inflammation, which can lead to capillary fragility. This was one of the best products we tried and produced instant results with excellent hydration.
This serum has been designed to take the place of your day cream, night cream, eye cream, primer and serum. Such an all-in-one product is a real bonus to any skincare regime in the time it saves getting ready to face the day ahead. The serum has the same feel as a moisturiser and absorbs quickly into the skin leaving it looking radiant and rejuvenated. Results were almost immediate giving a smoother and brighter appearance to the under-eye area.
This is an innovative eye cream with a Cryo-massager applicator which has been carefully moulded to the contour of the eye and allows the product to be applied effortlessly to the delicate skin under the eye. It contains ingredients which nourish, protect and detoxify the skin in addition to a special complex which combats dark circles and puffiness. A little goes a long way so we suggest applying this cream sparingly.
Made in England, this eye cream brightens and smoothens whilst tackling deep wrinkles. It contains the active ingredients EYESERYL®, Beautifeye™ and Gransil DMCM-5. EYESERYL® is proven to reduce puffy eyes and only takes about 2 weeks to diminish any swelling. This is complemented by Beautifeye™ which reduces the signs of fatigue by lifting the upper eyelids and also combats wrinkles, dark circles and bags. We noticed that after a 15 days trial the eyes looked rejeuvenated and clear of puffiness. The Gransil DMCM-5 also gave a soft focus effect to lines and wrinkles which were still noticeable but looked diminished.
This product claims to brighten and lift the delicate skin around the eye contour area. The roll-on applicator helps to stimulate circulation, while carefully selected natural actives work to lighten, brighten and tighten. In addition to co-enzyme Q10 it also contains green coffee, jojoba, and horse chestnut extracts which all helps eyes look and feel younger, brighter and refreshed. We think this product is the perfect pick-me-up for tired eyes and is a valuable handbag essential during the party season as it can be applied over makeup.
Dark Circles Correcting Cream is an advanced anti-dark circle cream that harnesses powerful skin lighteners and tighteners, next generation peptides and illuminating light reflecting particles. The unique formula is proven to help minimise the appearance of dark circles by helping decongest, firm and tone the delicate eye area, targeting specific causes such as iron discoloration and pigmentation. We were equally impressed with this eye cream as we were with the eye serum from Dr Nick Lowe and saw a visible brightening effect under the eye after only 2 weeks of use.
Angel Eyes is handmade by Angela Langford herself from natural raw ingredients and is packed with cucumber oil, argan oil, thistle oil and rosehip to gently smooth and protect the under-eye area. The roller-ball applicator does not drag the skin which we liked because it does not damage the delicate skin of the eye area. It is very nourishing and leaves the skin feeling lovely and smooth. We would recommend it for dry or mature skin and it is excellent for sensitive skin giving its organic credentials.
The Dead Sea Spa Magik Age Response Eye Cream is packed with skin loving and rejuvenating minerals including Dead Sea minerals, Vitamin B5 and Jojoba Oil to help tone and firm the under eye area, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles. The product claims it reduces puffiness, dark circles and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is also free from parabens.
Spa Find Eye Gel is a crystal clear, cool and refreshing gel to instantly bring moisture and radiance to the delicate area around the eyes. This hydrating gel also decreases small wrinkles around the eye area, delays the appearance of new ones, and relieves dark circles and puffiness caused by tiredness, for a deep down skin boost. Contains aloe vera and vitamins A, E and B5 to soothe, smooth and renew.
The Jade Dark Eye Circles Roll Away uses a blend of Ancient Jade and modern ingredients including Bio Energy Fluid, Bio Rice Fermentation Fluid, water soluble olive oil, ginseng and various herb extracts, Pomelo and Royal Jelly. Jade has natural massaging properties as it contains trace minerals than benefit the body. Over time, it rolls away dark circles, and brightens and firms the eye area – helping to reduce eye bags, crow’s feet and fine lines.
Best of the Rest
These two products didn’t make it into our top 10 but we’d like to give them a special mention.
This concealer brush pen does not have the fancy packaging or fancy price of the high end equivalents but it does have a rich creamy formula that blends easily to give you good coverage. The pen design allows mess free application to conceal shadows under after party eyes. We found it to be quick drying and only required one or two touch ups throughout a busy day. A great budget buy to complement your makeup collection.
This product from Boots refreshes dry tired skin under the eyes and is an effective source of hydration. However we found the applicator to be slightly messy and not as good as the other roll-on products we tried. The concealer effect of the colour correcting pigments in the product was good but not as long lasting as some more expensive concealers. However for the price, this is a useful addition to have lying around in a makeup emergency.
