Seasonal Spring Flavours at Bar + Block Steakhouse Kings Cross

Part of Whitbread PLC, Bar + Block Steakhouse in King’s Cross is the second site under the Bar + Block umbrella, following the successful roll-out of its debut venue in Birmingham on Waterloo Street in March 2016.

With quality steak at its core and offering a range of rotating unique specials cuts on the ‘Butcher’s Block’, Bar + Block is an all-day dining destination specifically designed to thrive in high-street locations with Bath, Nottingham and Whiteley now all part of the Bar + Block family.

Steak aficionados can explore an ever-changing selection of cuts from classics to signatures on the Butcher’s Block. Diners can enjoy everything from sharing plates to decadent mains including slow-cooked pork belly, beef short rib and handmade burgers.

The new spring menu encourages you to get your graze on with tasty new grazing plates. New additions include Pulled Beef Croquettes, Crispy Tandoori Chicken Wings and Atlantic Scallops cooked over charcoal in garlic and chorizo which although perhaps are not the largest scallops we’ve seen lately are still full of succulent flavour.

Some lighter additions to the menu include Mushroom & Spinach Gnocchi whilst those who working towards that ‘beach body’, the healthy Bresaola Salad with rocket, crisp pear, beetroot and feta is under 600 calories, so you can dig in without guilting! Fish lovers can enjoy Hot-Smoked Salmon with potato, peas, green beans and asparagus – full of seasonal flavour and gorgeous greenery.

The restaurant’s signature Butchers Block features Chargrilled 10oz Picanha covered with mouthwatering chimichurri sauce and served with a salad wedge garnished with effluvious blue cheese and crispy oak smoked dry cured streaky bacon.

If this isn’t guaranteed to become a new favourite amongst loyal meat loving diners then the new Deconstructed Beef Wellington surely will – a sensational main of succulent slices of fillet steak on layers of flaky puff pastry with a garlic, spinach and truffle flavoured creamy mushroom filling. Oh yum!

The delicious grills are also a tempting new addition for spring. Choose between Lemon & Thyme Chicken or BBQ Smoked Pork Belly, both finished over charcoal for even more flavour.

Vegetarians are not left out with the light but tasty Halloumi & Courgette Burger to sink their teeth into without harming any animals in the process!

For those with a sweet tooth who can’t resist giving into pudding temptation, the dessert menu welcomes a light and fresh Mixed Berry Pavlova perfect for spring.

But who can say no to the new Lemon & Clementine Cheesecake – you are sure to love the creamy goodness of this mouthwatering zesty dessert.
