Domaine de Canton is the world’s first ultra premium ginger liqueur and is handmade in small batches in Jarnac in the heart of Cognac, France. SLOAN! Magazine recommends this deliciously fragrant liqueur as the perfect Winter tipple with its warm gingery edge and lemongrass undertones making it perfect for cocktails or to use in fusion cuisine.
Domaine de Canton is produced by the third generation liqueur-maker, John Cooper, and Master Distiller Jean Francois Bardou. Producing fine French liqueurs has been a Cooper family tradition since 1884.
Each batch is made using fresh, baby ginger from Vietnam, orange blossom honey from Provence and a fresh Tahitian vanilla-bean infusion which is then blended with VSOP and Grande Champagne XO cognac. It is an all natural liqueur without preservatives or stablisers and is packaged in a distinctive frosted, bamboo-shaped bottle.
Domaine de Canton is based on a recipe originally inspired by French colonial Indochina which had a tradition of using sweet and fresh elixirs, fortified by fine eaux de vie and cognac. A versatile ingredient in cocktails, Domaine de Canton has also found favour with top chefs around the world as a cooking ingredient.
Domaine de Canton is owned by Maurice Cooper et Cie and distributed in the UK by Marblehead. Domaine de Canton runs the annual Ginger Lovers Recipe Contest and the Bartender of the Year competition with an all-expenses paid trip to the French West Indies and a $10,000 prize. Domaine de Canton has won several awards including Double Gold Medal (Best in Show) at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Stockists include Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Booths and other fine off licences, as well as prestigious bars and restaurants throughout the UK.
