Mondrian London has announced a programme of American-inspired events throughout the hotel to celebrate the Fourth of July this summer, and to honour the hotel’s American heritage.
For our American readers in London who aren’t returning Stateside for the celebrations this year, award-winning bar Dandelyan will be joined by Bobby Eldridge and Damon Roseberry from acclaimed Miami beach bar, The Broken Shaker. Situated in a backyard oasis at The Freehand Hotel, The Broken Shaker which was awarded Best American Hotel Bar at Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards in 2015 and is currently ranked sixteenth in The World’s 50 Best Bars is known for its creativity and playful use of seasonal ingredients from around the world.
Ryan Chetiyawardana and the team at Dandelyan will collaborate on an exclusive one-off menu with their American counterparts to produce their most innovative versions of a number of classics. The guest team will join forces with Dandelyan on Sunday 2nd July for Sunday Lyan, the friendly industry night with a guest DJ which is held every Sunday. Their cocktail creations from the evening will then be exclusively available on a special ‘Independence Day’ menu from Sunday evening to Tuesday 4th July.
The hotel’s restaurant, Sea Containers at Mondrian London will draw on its American heritage to create a one-off menu of classics such as an ‘All American Burger’ and ‘Baby Back Ribs’ alongside a selection of hard shakes. The menu will be available all week for visitors to enjoy, alongside their a la carte. Should London be graced with sunshine, guests will be able to enjoy the American menu on the recently opened Summer Terrace, which is located directly on the Thames River path.
The celebrations continue upstairs on Tuesday 4th July at Rumpus Room, the twelfth-floor lounge, with interiors inspired by summers in the Hamptons and an eclectic mix of American music, food and drink. Jazz & blues band, ‘Angela’s Quartet’, will also be performing classic USA hits with a 21st century twist. The drinks menu will feature cocktails from Kentucky-based Bulleit Bourbon, including ‘The Bulleit Boilermaker’, a craft beer and shot of 45% ABV bourbon. The food menu will encompass a selection of sharing plates featuring mini hot dogs and sliders. Reservations for the evening will be available so guests can reserve their spot to raise a toast whilst enjoying views of the London skyline.
If all the merriment gets too much, make a night of it with the Independence Stay room package.
