One Warwick Park is an elegant 39-bedroom hotel offering stylish and contemporary interior design based in Tunbridge Wells’ historic Pantiles District. The hotel inhabits a creatively reimagined brew house and schoolhouse, taking the previously unconnected structures and creating a harmonious and unified building, filled with light.
A feature gallery space links the two buildings and promises to surprise with a stylish, shifting canvas of showcases from local, national and international artists. A double height Atrium presents the heart of the hotel; a light, flexible space for entertainment and celebration.
Bedrooms and suites at One Warwick Park focus on comfort, with no detail of the guest experience overlooked from lighting, to linen, to intuitive power-point positioning. Each room is individually styled and a variety of room-types appeal to the range of clientele from business travellers, to honeymooners and families.
The Duplex Suite overlooking the quaint Kent cobbles, pairs period features with a fresh, elegant design perfect for bridal parties or families, whilst the three Deluxe Balcony rooms offer a private landscaped terrace with views over Tunbridge Wells’ tapestry of assorted architecture. All bedrooms feature a King or Super King bed with locally, hand-finished furnishings, large flat screen TVs, luxurious Temple Spa toiletries, complimentary refreshments and WiFi.
There are four additional locations to dine and have a drink throughout the day; the resident’s Lounge, the 75 cover restaurant L’AMORE, The Terrace as well as a quieter Snug for relaxation.
Commenting on the inspiration behind L’AMORE, Executive Head Chef Andre Woodward said, “We will take the best fresh ingredients to create dishes that look and taste amazing but without pretention or unnecessary gimmicks. We’ve worked hard to source the freshest, and where possible, the best locally sourced ingredients to create a seamless blend of English products cooked in an authentic Italian fashion.”
Designed by interior architects KTB in collaboration with Interior Designers Envy London, L’AMORE’s refined restaurant interior incorporates a warm and inviting colour palette, contemporary upholstery and a visually stunning double height Atrium, presenting a light and flexible space. The result is much like the food on offer – a modern, comfortable and cosmopolitan spot for all occasions with a distinct luxury but relaxed feel. L’AMORE’s extensive private dining area also provides the perfect backdrop for entertainment and celebration in an intimate and stylish setting for up to 12 guests.
Using the best fresh and simple ingredients, all beef is aged for a minimum of 35 days whilst fish dishes are sourced directly from the Cornwall coast. L’AMORE offers a specially selected wine selection to accompany all tastes including an impressive European led offering and collection of Champagnes including Guy Cadel Carte Blanche Brut, Laurent-Perrier Rosé and Louis Roederer Crisal. A range of classical and reimagined cocktails underpin the bar menu with a focus on Martini varieties.
During our stay at One Warwick Park, we dined at L’AMORE and had a thoroughly delightful experience. To begin we enjoyed bread and wine while perusing the menu.
To start, I chose the crab and shrimp risotto with creme fraiche, fennel puree, parmesan and lemon oil.
My dining companion went for the baked aubergine parmigiana with tomatoes, parmesan, mozzarella, basil and pangrattato.
To follow, my main was the pan fried scampi thermidor with chervil, mustard, parmesan and saffron rice.
Highlighting the chef’s skill, my dining companion ordered the 12 hour low and slow belly of pork cooked in almond milk with celeriac and sweet potato gratin, chargrilled vegetables and apple grappa jus. The dish was expertly executed and the presentation was on point.
To finish, desserts were a refreshing mango sorbet and decadent salted caramel ice cream…
While my dining companion ended his meal with the affogato el caffe with Frangelico liqueur, double espresso, vanilla ice cream and chocolate dipped honeycomb.
Set in a sophisticated interior and using only the best fresh, simple ingredients, the hotel’s L’AMORE Restaurant reinterprets Mediterranean cicchetti style small plate dining and provides a focal point for local residents and hotel guests alike presenting a hub of culinary excellence. Andre Woodward and his team deliver a wonderful culinary adventure and dining at this Royal Tunbridge Wells restaurant will certainly leave you feeling like a king!
