In Conversation with Alesha Dixon

SLOAN! chats to our cover star Alesha Dixon to discover the woman behind the singer-songwriter, author, Britain’s Got Talent judge & founder of NobleBlu.

What life lessons did you learn from your other projects that helped you create NobleBlu?

Throughout my life experiences to date, the lesson that resonates with me the most is the importance of taking care of yourself and finding that true balance within. We are creatures of habit, things will go right and wrong, but self-care and self-love are absolutely paramount – it has a ripple effect on all aspects of life. That’s why I think the wellness space is so beneficial, and this is what NobleBlu is all about. When you start prioritising wellness and taking care of yourself, I’ve found that everything starts to fall into place. Another life lesson I have learnt along the way is to take each day as an opportunity to reset – don’t worry about what you didn’t do. Today is the present moment. At NobleBlu we launched 5 innovative premium supplements to help support that wellness journey. And this is only the beginning. I love the idea of starting a business to help people have wellness, mind, body and soul, at the forefront of people’s to-do lists. We want to further encourage the conversation and importance around wellbeing and provide useful tools & products to support it.

What does your daily health & beauty routine look like? What products can’t you live without?

I like to start my day with a workout and will reach for a ginger shot or veggie juice too. I also love my smoothies including a protein powder, flaxseeds, chia seeds and dates. I now couldn’t live without NobleBlu’s Immunity supplement, my go-to daily defence shield to support my immune system, and the Energy supplement to help boost my physical (and mental) performance. I make sure I prioritise cleansing within my skincare routine and use a face mask once or twice a week. I love letting my skin breathe at home by not using makeup, and will always opt for a serum & night oil in the evenings.

How would you describe true success? (i.e. beyond money, fame etc.)

True success to me is not what you do but who you are. It’s looking in the mirror and being truly happy – that’s a success in itself. It’s living in the moment, not weighed down by your past or anxious about the future. That’s living, not just existing. True success to me is treating life as a gift, creating balance in your everyday life and acting from a place of love. One of my favourites quotes is: “life is like a banquet but most of us are starving today”. This is from a book called Awareness by Anthony de Mello and really resonates with me. This ties into NobleBlu’s mantra: Balance of Life – finding that everyday inner peace and joy.

You mention “Balance of Life”. What are the areas of your life that are the most important to keep balanced and how do you achieve that?

To me, balance doesn’t mean perfect. It’s to move through life in a more meaningful, calm way. We know life can sometimes be unpredictable but practising self-love and prioritising your wellbeing is what counts. It’s that Eat, Pray, Love moment. Whether it is your favourite box set, a glass of wine, following a spiritual guru or communicating with a loved one, it’s about letting go, facing your fears and finding comfort in the discomfort. And try not to give yourself a hard time, every feeling is valid. Be kind to yourself!

What are your guilty procrastination go-to activities? How do catch yourself from wasting time and motivate yourself to do something more productive?

Being self-employed, I have a very long to-do list and a busy schedule, so time flies! But I notice if I am being sluggish it’s likely that I need to slow down, rest, and focus on some self-care. I find happiness in everyday life by either cooking a delicious meal for my family or taking the dog for a walk. A rest day also counts as a productive day. Listen to your body, go with the flow, every day is different.

What would you tell your younger self about what to focus on in life to achieve true happiness and contentment?

I would say to worry less as it is a waste of energy. Worrying achieves nothing, ultimately. Trust that everything will be ok and fall into place. Focus on good intentions, take baby steps, and you will get to where you need to be. I’d also tell my younger self, do not be afraid to fail! There really is no such thing. Treat it all as a learning curve. As one door closes, another opens.

What depletes your energy? How do you avoid the triggers and how do you increase your energy?

Overthinking can deplete my energy. All those inner voices can sometimes get to you. I increase my energy by taking time out to recharge, supported by a NobleBlu Energy supplement which contains a unique blend of carefully selected vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B complex, iron and magnesium.

Beauty is more than just looks. What advice would you give to our readers who struggle with loving themselves just as they are?

Find that inner light. Sure, we all want to look good but it’s just not the most important thing. It’s how you feel, it’s being a good person, prioritising your health. All these far outweigh the superficial. Ask yourself: what is good for you and your wellbeing? It’s finding that Balance of Life.

In this current climate, immunity is so important. What healthy activities do you do to keep not only a healthy body but a healthy mind?

We are what we consume, and it always starts with the mind. Dust away the cobwebs and lead with love. Treat others how you want to be treated. I like to start my day with gratitude. I look forward to that and giving thanks for the day ahead.

What’s the biggest challenge you have faced recently? How did you deal with it and how do you overcome challenges that threaten to delay your dreams?

I feel challenged a lot of the time, but I allow it to happen and turn it into a positive. Challenges can often propel me forward when I let go and see the good things that come from them. Trust the process and make peace with it.

What are your top tips for keeping your mental health balanced during these turbulent times?

I always suggest prioritising health and wellbeing, whether that is through physical activity, getting out in nature, eating well, spending time with loved ones, and always being kind to yourself and others.

What are you looking forward to achieving this year?

I am excited for NobleBlu to continue growing; to reach more people, introduce new and exciting products, and ultimately continue the wellness conversation. I look forward to new projects and creating more special memories with my family.

What’s the most recent thing that happened to you that made you give a huge belly laugh?

I recently went to see Stormzy live with a big group of family and friends. We spent the entire night laughing uncontrollably. It was so good for the soul and was a reminder to go out and have fun, be a kid again and enjoy those precious moments.

What causes or charities are most close to your heart and why?

I am an ambassador for World Animal Protection. Animal welfare is extremely important to me, it always has been. It was crucial for our NobleBlu supplements to be cruelty free and vegan friendly. We only use premium, natural ingredients which are palm oil free and contain none of the nasty, artificial extras.

NobleBlu is a range of targeted, innovative, cutting edge vitamin supplements derived from natural sources for modern lifestyles.
